<p>I’m on record with my personal feelings about skydiving. Imagine actually deciding to go through with the experience and during your first tandem jump (where you parachute attached to another person, usually an experienced skydiver) the instructor dies in mid-air. Welcome to Daniel Pharr’s brief world. Pharr’s a soldier in the U.S. Army who specializes in military intelligence. His girlfriend presented him with the skydiving trip as a Christmas present. <p>Aside from safety, the other main concern is whether your child would really enjoy it. All I can say is that you know your kids best. If they love adventure and aren’t afraid to push the boat out, skydiving can be an incredible experience for them. Not only in terms of fun, but one which will give them a ton of confidence and pride (especially if Mum or Dad is doing it too!).</p>
<p>The job ‘skydiver’ as in a performance artist, is only for the fortunate few. Very few skydivers are skilled and talented enough to <strong>get paid to perform skydiving alone</strong>. But there are many jobs and paid tasks within the skydiving community, from packers and photographers to pilots and instructors.</p>
<p>There are also have several reasons for this age restriction. The first is safety. Skydiving is inherently risky, and even experienced jumpers can find themselves in dangerous situations. With younger participants, there is an increased risk of injury or worse. Another reason for the minimum age requirement has to do with maturity levels.</p>

<p>If skydivers want to achieve a much higher speed, they need to increase their height tremendously by performing a so-called “High-Altitude-Low-Opening” (HALO) jump”. HALO jumps are defined as jumps with an altitude above 30,000 feet. For HALO jumps, skydivers need to be very experienced and they will need a <strong>special space-like jumpsuit with oxygen support that allows them to breathe at high altitudes</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>After you jump out of the perfectly good airplane (It’s okay, I felt crazy too!), you will hit 120 mph within 3 to 5 seconds; this is your terminal velocity.</strong></p>

<p>When examining skydiving fatalities by gender, it is found that there is no significant difference in the number of deaths between males and females. However, it should be noted that more males participate in skydiving activities compared to females, which could contribute to a higher number of male fatalities overall.</p>
<p>On the same note, a woman is more likely to burn fewer calories than a man. This is because a woman has more fat content in her body and may require high-intensity swimming strokes such as the butterfly stroke to perhaps burn the same calories as a man using the slow-but-sure breaststroke.</p>

“This is history in the making,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said of the upcoming Starliner mission during a March 22 news conference. “We’re now in the golden era of space exploration.”
