You’ll see marks, notches or holes on the dipstick indicating the “FULL” and “ADD” levels. If the oil appears below the ADD mark, you’re out of oil. Call a friend and ask them to bring you at least four quarts of the proper oil for your vehicle(find the oil specs for your car on the oil filler cap or in the owner’s manual). Add just enough oil to bring the oil level up to the full mark on the dipstick, then drive your car to a shop to have it checked for leaks or an oil consumption issue.
Lift off the brake and gas. Steer into the slide, keeping your front wheels faced in the direction of travel you wish to go. You can apply some brakes, but don’t do too much. Sharp inputs will only make the slide worse. Wait until you feel traction return and then proceed as normal and with caution. Breathe.

Car engines are built around a set of "cooking pots" called cylinders (usually anything from two to twelve of them, but typically four, six, or eight) inside which the fuel burns.
